A Vision

🔥
I was on the table
thoughts gone gray
in a fog of burning sage
when Ajna opened.

Not somewhere else,
no, I was present
on my back, hands upon me,
yet I dwelt elsewhere.

In this black place
of familiar shadow
I saw the birth of a flame
with two names,

and in this flame
there burned a perfect love,
one name for the other,
in a joy of balance.

Then came
a glass sheet of water
dividing flame from flame,
name from name,

that through this pane
they could see
but not touch
and this taught pain.

Name danced across from name,
flame from flame,
seeking to reunite
in burning bliss,

but the barrier,
impassable,
yet for life and death,
stood firm.

One day one name,
a flame of the flame,
forgot to dance,
and fluttering, forgot its name.

Now this flame,
this familiar name,
sits beside the watery divide alone
remembering.
